The Hoka One One Top Trails video series returns for season two, with our first stop in Portland, OR. Portland is the host city for the upcoming IAAF World Indoor Championships, March 17-20. Here, Hoka Runner Eric Avila takes us for a run on the north section of the Wildwood Trail in Forest Park.  The Wildwood Trail meanders for 30.2 miles through the densely wooded park.  Forest Park, originally designed by the Olmsted Brothers (who’s father designed New York’s Central Park) in 1903, is one of the nation’s largest urban forest reserves. It sits just west of downtown Portland and provides about 70 miles of easily accessible trails.  Additionally, Portland’s proximity to the Cascade Mountain Range and the Columbia River Gorge provides virtually unlimited, dynamic hiking and trail running opportunities.

Host Ian Terpin heads to Portland Running Company to talk with Dave Harkin (Owner, Portland Running Co.) about the upcoming IAAF World Indoor Championships, Portland’s running community and the Wildwood Trail.  Afterward, Todd Janssen (Trail Factor / Go Beyond Racing) takes us on a morning trail run in Forest Park.  Finally Willie McBride and Yassine Diboun (Owners, Wy’east Wolfpack) sit down at Tidbit Food Farm and Garden with hosts Matt Barnhart and Ian Terpin to eat some local food-cart food and talk about trails inside and outside of Portland. Willy and Yassine then lead an evening group run to the highest point in Portland- Council Crest Park.
