The second stop for season two of Hoka One One Top Trails is Santa Barbara, CA. In this episode, local Santa Barbara elite trail runner, and recent UCSB grad, Dani Moreno leads us on a run up the Romero Canyon Trail, to scenic State Route 154.

Santa Barbara offers runners a sprawling network of interconnected mountainous trails. In addition to steep single track, runners can enjoy flat runs along the coast, through grasslands, or on the roads. Its moderate coastal climate also makes for comfortable running weather year round.

Host, Matt Barnhart visits the Santa Barbara Running Co. to talk to Joe DeVreese (Owner, Santa Barbara Running Co.) about some of the local trails and running culture. Meanwhile, host Ian Terpin heads to the trails to talk to Monica DeVreese (Owner, Santa Barbara Running Co. / Co-Founder, Rabbit Running Apparel) about the Jesusita Trail- the starting point for Santa Barbara Nine Trails.  Afterward, Matt and Ian sit down for coffee at Handlebar Coffee Roasters to discuss their impressions of the city before heading to the nearby Hoka One One Headquarters to meet some of the people behind the scenes and see some of Hoka’s innovative shoe creation processes firsthand. Hoka One One pro runner Craig Lutz also talks to us about running in the Hoka Corporate Distance Medley Relay which was held before a sales meeting.
