In Season 2, Episode 5 of Hoka One One Top Trails, we visit the Washington, DC area, also known as the D.M.V (District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia). In this episode, Hoka runner Michael Wardian takes us on a run from the C&O Canal Towpath to the rocky and technical Billy Goat Trail which runs for 4.7 miles along the border of Maryland and Virginia on the Potomic River. Wardian is known for competing frequently across numerous distances, and attempting unique challenges and running back-to-back races.
Host Matt Barnhart visits Pacers Running Company in Alexandria, VA to talk to owner Chris Farley about how he came to own the store, and the running scene in the D.M.V. Later Barnhart and co-host Ian Terpin visit SER Restaurant in Arlington, VA to enjoy some authentic Spanish food and talk to Wardian about the owners of the restaurant, and get a bit more perspective on what it’s like to run in Washington D.C.
