Our fourth stop for Hoka One One Top Trails is New York, NY. Within the concrete jungle of the city are some of the most storied and visited urban parks in the country, offering runners a dynamic and interesting day-to-day experience. In this episode, we highlight Central Park, Van Cortlandt Park, and various trails near New Paltz, NY, eighty miles north of Manhattan.

First, host Matt Barnhart meets with Will Noonan (Trail Running Specialist - Jackrabbit). Will leads us on a run through the Central Park trail system into the North Woods, finishing at The Blockhouse- one of the oldest structures in Central Park.  Host Ian Terpin heads eighty miles north of New York City to New Paltz, NY to meet resident trail runner Tim Fulton (Director of High School Track and Field -The Armory Track and Field Center / Director of New Paltz Running Camp).  Tim leads Ian on a run through the Undercliff/Overcliff Carriage Road in the Mohonk Preserve before heading to Minnewaska State Park and Lake Minnewaska.  Matt and Ian then head to Coogan’s Restaurant, adjacent to the Armory Track and Field Center in Washington Heights as David Hunt (Co-Owner, Coogan’s Restaurant) gives them a tour of Coogan’s expansive display of track and field memorabilia.  Finally, we head to the Hoka One One Long Island Mile to hear firsthand what its like to train in New York from Hoka runners Ford Palmer and Kyle Merber.
