Our fifth stop for the Hoka One One Top Trails video series is Flagstaff, Arizona. Flagstaff sits at an elevation of 7,000 feet and is a popular high-altitude training location for elite runners. It offers a wide network of single track trails, paved and unpaved roads and paths at a range of elevations extending beyond 12,000 feet. Flagstaff’s proximity to the Grand Canyon, historic Route 66 and Sedona area make it a truly unique destination for runners.

In this episode, we follow the Hoka One One sponsored training group “Northern Arizona Elite,” on a run at Aspen Corner, and talk to two of their athletes, Ben Bruce and Matt Llano. Later, Bruce and Llano lead us on a run at Lockett Meadow near the San Francisco Peaks, the highest mountain range in Arizona. Hosts Matt Barnhart and Ian Terpin sit down for lunch at Criollo Latin Kitchen and talk to Ben Rosario (Coach, Northern Arizona Elite) about Northern Arizona Elite and some of the local culture. Barnhart visits Run Flagstaff to talk to Vince Sherry (owner, Run Flagstaff) about the network of trails in Flagstaff and its surrounding areas. Barnhart and Terpin also get a change to visit the highly recommended Diablo Burger.
