Full Show - Scottsdale, AZ Top Trails
Published by
HOKA One One Top Trails returns for season three. In this episode, we visit the Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ area, where HOKA runner Jim Walmsley shows us some of the trails near where he grew up. He runs in one of his favorite locations, the Scottsdale Sonoran Preserve in the McDowell Mtn. area. In June 2016, Walmsley was crushing course record pace through 92 miles of the Western States 100, but accidentally went off course, ultimately finishing four hours off record-setting pace. He sees the upcoming 2017 Western States as a chance for redemption and discusses some of his lofty goals. We also meet with Fleet Feet Scottsdale manager Brian Whiton, who discusses the Phoenix/Scottsdale running scene and talks about a day in his life, as well as how he got into running. Brian takes us on a beautiful Fleet Feet group run at sunset. Later, hosts Matt Barnhart and Ian Terpin sit down for breakfast at Chloe’s Corner with Walmsley and talk about some of his race strategies. |
